The car was painted today! Going to Detroit Tuned tomorrow morning for the dramatic reveal of the new color! I don't see a lot of sleep happening tonight !

Blue. Blue. Blue. Blue. I am so happy right now. It looks absolutely stunning, and its in pieces.

Lots of bits for Chad to put back together!
I've been shopping for new wheels too:
-
Of the 3 I like the middle wheel the best. The the one one the left. The one with the star and the chrome bits in the wheel, blah.
But then again, you didn't ask me and I'm no paying for them, so I don't have much say in the matter. -
No. I welcome input. The star and chrome would be powder coated or shaved off.
I'm leaning toward the middle one as well. I really like the 'lipless' look. -

:cornut: Yeah middle one looks great. You are going to have one NICE MINI when all is said and done. I can't weight for those photos.

Love the thread.
My only suggestion on the wheels........make sure the spokes do not extend out past the lip of the wheel. Otherwise the spokes will get crazy rock-chipped. -

OMG I love this paint job

Thanks for the heads up on the wheels. Worst case I can just re-powder coat them every year before the Dragon
Here is the hood, and the shaved bumpers.

Great choice on the color!

Wheels
I'm going out of my mind obsessing over wheels.
Can anyone identify this one?
I like 5 spoke, but am looking at others.
This is the 'perfect' wheel to me, but only 5 bolt: :mad2:

New wheels have been purchased (will be powder coated matte black). Chad is now disassembling for reassembly. Cleaning and making final adjustments.
I have to say that the attention to detail that Detroit Tuned (aka Chad) has done with this project have been absolutely insane. The tiny steering wheel control buttons got masked off, I didnt even do this when I painted them! Washers and bolts match color. Each screw feels like its been thought about. (get your mind out of the gutter)
A lot of progress is being made, and I could not be happier. The interior looks briliant!

Great looking work. If the car is still there on April 6th I will get to see it in person!

Comparison of the old Focal F05 rims to the new DxRs: I'm really excited to see them on the car, I like the spokes so much better!
Chad has been busy this weekend, we have doors again!
