I have the K-Brace on my R53. I like it and the car seems a lot more planted now than it was before the installation. I like that it is bolted together and that I don't have to worry about welds breaking over time. Of course, the same thing might be said about the bolts or locknuts getting sheared off but I doubt that that will ever happen. The brace is sturdy and is well-constructed of quality steel. The holes are already pre-drilled and the unit comes with the necessary bolts and locknuts. It arrives in in pieces so that a small package can be easily sent worldwide...thus saving on shipping costs.

I had looked at the TSW X-Brace before getting the K-Brace. I am happy with my purchase...better construction, ease of installation, and value, IMHO.

What is your beef with Bytetronik? I talked with Jan @ RMW yesterday and I may end up with a Bytetronik setup for stage 2 of my mini build.

Do a search. You can go cheap, with no support when things go wrong and pay more in the long run with bytetronic, or do it right the first time with RMW. You've been warned, choice is yours, but you'll get very little sympathy when things go wrong.

Jan was the one who recommended the Bytetronik setup for my stage two build.Either way I am on board with Jan for my build. So that is why I am confused right now!

I am certainly confused now. I am sure after a few more calls and emails with Jan I will have this all figured out!

What other standalone ECU option is available then?

Go with the ViPEC all the other cost much more and I do not think they off the features the ViPEC does.
