Yea, gray raven is one of the new mods and he locked it. Then Motor On removed his lock and post.......lol
gray raven thought it should be locked cause it was a dangerous thing to do. The tires could blow up! -
Who made grey raven a mod?:rolleyes5: Does anyone over there ever research past posts of the users before granting them the ability to edit others post's. You know the folks who DO know what the heck there talking about.

I got it worked out with Motor On though. He handled it well -
Please donate to a new organization created to stop this blatant disregard for public safety: MAST (Mods Against Stretched Tires)

I read the posts after deletion, and Grey Raven's comments made sense, as did Rally's against it. It seems that the sum of the back and forth was put down most eloquently by Motor On.
I wonder, with that much poke, what did the tire shops say when they mounted the tires? I know money talks, but does it really usurp safety so easily?
Everyone can do to their own car as they wish, but I prefer my current tire and rim size. -

Who says they are unsafe? You wouldn't track those wheels. They are for cruising, not racing...

You're supposed to drive it like you stole it at least 90% of the time.:ihih: -

As with anything else, there are extreme exceptions. 165's on 9's isn't safe, but if you're putting some 215's on a 9 to fit them on your MINI, they're not going to just randomly explode on you.
rrr: jk
There's no "shoulds" here. As long as you're enjoying your car and having fun with it, that's what matters. Some like casually cruising around enjoying the motoring and some like speeding around curves soaking in the adrenaline. Neither is right or wrong. -
MINIs are popular because of their design integrity and true individualism in a world of look a like cars -- Over 10,000 variations available, before MINIacs get a hold of them. We love our MINIs because they are unique to each of us.

Yeah, that's just great. There are very few people I bump heads with in forums, can count them on one hand, and Gray Raven happens to be one of them, before the elevation to mod status--I've got a great thread where he came at me for no reason whatsoever:
MINI COOPER :: North American Motoring - What should I do about a JCW brake job on R53 JCW?
One cool thing though is as long as Gray Raven is around, there's at least one person in this world who knows less about brakes than I do. I'll probably be banned shortly.... -

Just in case anybody missed the unedited original last page of the thread...
