I am just amazed they survived, and thankful they did. Miners have THE hardest and most treacherous job I can imagine. My grandfather was a miner in WV and some of the pictures I have seen of that just gave me the willies. Mile underground bent at the waist in a cavern that was 4 feet tall and went out in every direction in pitch blackness.

Not my cup o' tea.

Thank you Lord, and thank you to the folks that made the rescue possible. I can think of a lot of ways this could have ended and not reunited these men with their families.

.....and yea, ain't enough money to get me to spend my life down there, just gives me the creeps to think about it.

 

I do imagine that with the book and movie deals that will be headed their way all of them will be finacally set, I heard that they all agreed to equally split what revenues may be had.

 

I have to agree. Just talking about going down in a mine give me the creeps.

Quite an ordeal, truly amazing. I bet it smelled, well, I KNOW THEY WERE GLAD FOR SOME FRESH AIR!

The bottom dropped out in the event they would need to lower any of the rescue-es. They were clamped to a main line to easily lower them if the situation arose.

 

It was captivating to watch and shows what can be accomplished when so many people and countries can come together . On another note i wonder what overtime for 1,680 hrs comes to

Yes! Thank god everybody came out all right. I was born in Santiago, Chile. CHI, CHI, CHI, LE, LE, LE, viva Chile!! By the way, quite a few classic mini clubs in Chile.

I seem to remember hearing when this all started that the mining company was almost broke, and there was no money to pay the miners. Glad they all got out. I wonder how the guy with the wife and mistress waiting at the top is doing:lol:.

I think the Miners inside still had a separate harness on, so i will assume it was attached to a cable of some sort.
