That should be a fantastic, fun combo. The RE-71R is said to wear a bit faster than most other UTQG 200 tires, but they should be a lot of fun while they last, then just replace them with the same or something else if you fancy. You give up some comfort, wear, and heavy rain performance compared to some other choices, like the Michelin PSS or Conti EC Sport, but gain significantly in dry handling and crisp response.
I looked long and hard at the Dunlops... I like the look and the tread pattern a bit more, but I just couldn't justify the extra $45+ per tire ($30 + $17 discount on the Re-71Rs via gift card after filling out all of the paperwork).
The mounted/balanced wheels and tires shipped in 24 hours and they arrived 24 hours after that. That's crazy-service! Go TireRack.com! Here's a pic after I got 'em bolted up. TY everyone for the input. They fit perfectly (no rubbing) and feel great. I haven't really laid into 'em yet, but I wasn't chirping the tires at every stop light and the turn-in felt very crisp.
