I'll try it first on the black trim on my wife's Dodge Caliber, and then if I screw up, it doesn't matter.

The stuff really is great. When I do mine, I go back with a paper towel and lightly wipe off any excess while it's still wet. Don't scrub it with the paper towel... just a light wipe will ensure very even results when the Penetrol dries. If you're careful to apply it evenly with the sponge (as I'm sure Dave is) you could skip that. But I do it quick, and inevitably get it heavier some places than others. Wipe, let dry, repeat, done.

I've got this on my agenda over the long weekend. Does it come off if accidentally drying on the paint? Planning to be careful but just curious how to remove if that should happen.

    Thanks Dave for sharing.

If you get it on the paint wipe it off before it dries. It's really that simple.

I wear a rubber glove and use a sponge to apply it. I go very slow because I am in no rush since you only have to apply it once a year why not take your time and do it right the first time.

Thanks Dave. Agree should be easy. Just being anal before giving it a shot -- just in case. Looking forward to some renewed black trim. Finally. Gray just looks like junk.
