true but this is the Cooper section......those S's have their own section..LOL

That's why I asked the year due to different 5 speed gearboxes for the Cooper

I ended up having a mechanic do it. But we ran into a problem: the driver side axle popped out of the transmission after few days of driving. The mechanic thinks the lock clip could be worn. He doesn't know if the lock clip is in the axle or on the shaft in the transmission.

Do you guys have any advice on how to make sure the axle stays in its place?

I tack welded the seal cover to the axle , then made a bracket to slot in between the CV joint and cover. Works perfect

sorry for the delay, I took the photos but forgot to post them. DUH! This is the bracket off the gearbox. There are 2 lugs with holes in that I put extra bolts through to bolt up the bracket.

Still cannot get through, Chris. It says, "default client not properly installed" or something like that.

    Thank you, Chris.
It looks like you've had it for a while. Did it create any issues?
How did you come up with it?

I've noticed a dribble of oil on some rallies around the LS axle so I figured the axle must be popping in and out so I looked at the gear box, axle and then made the bracket. The bracket has done around 4 rallies and does have a little bit of wear which proves it works
