I wonder if there was machine lube still inside the header the burned up and coated the the O2 Sensor. Can you swap them? See if the code moves and if so I'd put my nickel on a fouled O2 sensor.
The good news code 2237 has not come back again since it was cleared with the scan gauge. The bad news is the MINI threw a 3018 code, while under very moderate acceleration, just about a mile after a cold start-up. Again the code has not reappeared. Internet searches have come up empty on code 3018. Anybody have any experience with either 2237 or 3018 ?
Sure that is a P3018? P3xxx is for hybrids - P3018 is Battery Block 8 Becomes Weak P0318 is Rough Road Sensor A Signal Circuit in case you read it wrong.
Yes I double checked and rechecked, the code on the Scan Gauge is 3018 . The Parameter Identifications Descriptors (PIDs) list are (ones with values only) PID03= LOOP IS OPEN PID04= LOD=17 PID05= WT F 218 PID0C= RPM2282 PID0D= MPH 41 PID0E = IGN 36 PID0F = IAT F 101 PID10 = GPH 1.3 PID11 = TPS 19 These PIDs look like normal values to me ?????
