Dave, you know it’s the people that we interact with, not the cars! Lol. The people help make MINIs “different”!

    No, the cars are different.

People are just people nothing special.

If a drive you want to attend is already filled up and is not going to need restaurant reservations, you can pretty much go and follow the pack, because even though people sign up for these drives, a few never make it for whatever reasons.

Mark Hampshire from Ohio and I started the Donut Run a few years back. Nathan, old owner of M\A sponsored it and had t-shirts made.

The original Donut Run was a very early morning run that took Hellbender, Dragon, and Foothills Parkway at very high speeds before any local Police / LEO’s are around. It was a fun time for only a few very experienced drivers.

I am the 3rd car back behind Blake, Marks son. Mark was in the black lead car called the helmet that Lee owns now.

Yep. It was about to be abandoned due to lack of a leader a few years back and Barry went poking about, looking for a leader. It was that or a drive with a hike up a steep climb and, well, I thought that donuts were more my style. I organize the Sunrise drive into a very spirited run down the Dragon, trying to put more spirited folks in the front so we can all have our bit of fun before the locals and LEOs get on the road. The Donut run starts a bit later now and it's more about people and a bit of spirit on the Dragon, but a more sedate drive up the Foothills Pkway and a longer drive out to catch the Cherohala (which can become quite spirited, depending on who tags along). It's definitely more sedate than it's origins. A few years back there were only 3 of us doing the whole thing and at a lunch stop we decided to press our luck on the Cherohala. Luckily I saw a Harley give a frantic 'slow down' sign to another biker as we were approaching a bend and I hit the brakes hard, coasting around the corner to find a nice officer there with a speed gun out. (I might need to think about upping my detection game this year).

I think it was MOTD 10. I forget the number, but it was a lot on MINI’s.

Here is the list of all past Dragons.

Corona virus or not I AM GOING TO THE DRAGON.

No need to wash hands as I will always have some type of alcohol in or around me. Hahaha (kidding)

I will still wash hands and shower.

    Come on 500 MINI’s

I don’t care if it gets “officially” cancelled, I am still going. Lots of us will still be going.

    As of 3/11/2020

    For Dave: 442 MINIs attending
For everyone else: There are currently 634 people signed up

I can't imagine skipping out on MOTD because of the Coronavirus unless there are travel restrictions or I'm infected (in which case I'll be self-quarantined like a thoughtful person). I've got a cabin that I'm sharing with one person and my own car. I could take more food of my own for cooking there (usually I enjoy the local establishments, but I can cook, should I need to isolate a bit more).

    Fist bumps for everyone!

Perhaps we need to institute a special MINI fist-bump... I could imagine that might be a knuckle bump, using only the second knuckle of your pinky finger.

Such is the nature of being an At-will employee (which is almost all employees in Texas, where they are located)

The Covette museum has their dragon run on Sunday before the Minis on the dragon.

On Monday sales of minis skyrocket and Vette values plummet as vette owners sale their cars and run to buy MINIs.
If Dave or Collin run with them they won’t know what hit them. :D
