Darn it. Huge thank you to Barry! We support your decision 100%! You were really trying and we know it! Looking at the new t-shirt now, seems appropriate.
I don't understand closing the roads. If you're in your car or on a bike you are not infecting anyone.
I’m sure that police and EMT workers have much more pressing things to worry about then the yahoos on the Dragon.
They, Fontana maybe open again by then and our group is still planning on going if Fontana opens. go buy a t-shirt.
Barry also has a grille badge for sale on the shirt page, as well as info on how to donate to MOTD, and to the Graham County Foodbank.
Yep. I bet colinmini has it right. They are probably trying to free up police and emergency services from the patrol and response needs that the tourist drivers/riders put on the area. If they are anything like the public-facing sides of my company, those groups are down 20-30% of the workforce due to virus concerns (or having the flu, which looks like COVAD-19 on the basic symptoms and docs who don't have tests for patients not in high-risk populations are just giving "quarantine for 14 days" as a standard answer).
All I can say is WOW! We have a truly wonderful MOTD family! A family truly willing to give at a time when giving is so hard for some of us! Huge thank you to those that donated to the Graham County Food Bank! Stay safe! The message from Barry’s email: “Last Weekend (closing Sunday April 12th) To Purchase the Commemorative Shirts & Grill Badge and Make a Donation to the Graham County Food Bank As of now we have collected $3,173 for the Graham County Food bank. While that is less than half of our usual donation. I think it's still pretty good under the circumstances. I know these are tough times for many of us, but if you are able, we will taking donations over this weekend, before sending in our check on Monday.” And here is the link to donate or purchase: http://www.minisonthedragon.com/2020-Cancellation.php#Fontana
Well, our MOTD PittStop group has our plan to meet up for this Friday! Wooo hooo! Ok, it’s only a couple of us and it will be a virtual Meet Up, but at least we can all chat!
Both are open, but expect to get pulled over A LOT because of your out of state tags. The Dragon is open from both sides. Check out https://tailofthedragon.com/
I saw something yesterday that the road block on the east side of the dragon has been removed and all traffic may pass. Hotels are still closed. Shops/restaurants at Deals Gap are open.
Sunshine on the Dragon makes me happy! Weather is awesome this weekend! Come out and social distance and play safely. Lol
