We're looking at a long vacation next year, flying into Seattle for a wedding, then driving down to CA for family visits. the info i've been able to find states that i can get a WA CC permit for 60$, but can't get one at all for OR or CA. WA and OR both allow open carry, of which i'm not particularly a fan, but it would be better than nothing. CA doesn't allow open carry. Does anyone know if this information is correct, or have things changed at all?
All state have open carry. The problem is you can get in trouble for insighting panic or something similar. I would think that an even bigger issue in places like CA, OR and WA.
due to my job, I can get around that, so the hassle would be worth the security for my family. I just don't like open carry as it makes you a target.
CA does not have open carry. Up until about a year ago you could OC an unloaded handgun, but when Jerry Brown took over even that was eliminated. Unless you live in a rural area the only way to get a concealed permit is to be a celebrity or politician.
haha. unfortunately, IF i were a criminal, I'd probably shoot the guy w/ his gun on his hip first, and then worry about everyone else.. I'll just leave it at home and hate life the whole time
I stand corrected. I thought all states still had open carry. I remember when Florida got it in the 80s. There were images of all the drug lords with their big chrome guns on their hips. I very surprised the Texas isn't open carry.
California is not going to let you have a gun you just need to get used to it. Only in special exceptions and i guarantee you wont be one of them.
My son just moved from Wyoming to Oregon, guess why he always told me Wyoming has such a low crime rate?
Look up your states carry laws. If your state doesn't approve a particular states carry laws, then the other state doesn't observe yours. Simple as that.
I did that first, which is why i was asking, hoping that what i found initially wasn't up to date. pretty much no one in the country honors CA's cc carry, and vice versa:mad2: that's how i know i can get a non resident cc for WA for 60$.
