I think this canned sound idea may solve the problem with the new F1 engine "lack of" sound. I can just see it now speakers on either side of the air box with a big a$$ amp powered by another generator. Then they can make them sound like any F1 era.:eek:ut:

I was happy to hear that you can pull the fuse. All I need is MORE noise inside the car. I travel alone, most of the time, but it is nice to talk to a passenger when I have one. :D

My mechanic has one, but it was packed with, "scrubble", which we surmised is just Stainless steel wool type material? Do you happen to have a link, phone number to Coast Fab?

    Here it is:

    Aerospace Hardware & Fasteners

Go to the "fabrication services" link on the page, it has the lightweight mufflers (not intuitive the way the web site is set up).

They will custom build anything to size/spec; it's always a good idea to see what they've got on clearance, every now and then they build something that someone backs out on that would fit the MINI perfectly, and it ends up being quite a bit cheaper. If you check out the site, you can see how easy it is to repack one of their mufflers. Best way is to call them; you can get exactly what you want. Like I said, it ain't cheap, but it's the best quality not to mention convienence (when you put in the ability to repack) out there by a mile. It's the best lightweight muffler out there.

    That's true.

But it's a loud intake, plus the number of rolled-up socks packed in your underwear, that determines 'manhood'.

Go with titanium scrubble..... much lighter than SS scrubble...

Lathe turnings are easy to get from a metal recycler.... The Ti will stand up to higher temperatures than SS...

Well, F1 sounds from any year up through 2013....there is no sound in F1 anymore...only soft whispers....the only way you know you don't have your audio system muted when watching a race is when the commercials come on...

Hamilton said that the loudest thing about his Benz is the wind noise. That is sad. :nonod:
