I've been fighting with my airbag light lately (another story, I think) and thought I would read some other codes as well. I had no warning lights on the dash, I was just playing around in the software. I turned up the following:

    Code:

5E19 CAN data fault from DME/DDE(DCS lamp on as long as error is preset)

    5DC3 Wheel-speed sensor, rear right

    5DB3 Wheel-speed sensor, rear left

5E5C Initialize Run Flat Indicator, see Owner's Handbook

These codes won't clear, but they don't manifest as warning lights. What gives? Is this normal to find sneaky codes like this?

Welcome to MA! Have you tried here

ECU Codes Chart - 1st Generation MINI - Library

I am not sure why they wont clear. You may try disconnecting your battery for 10 min and see if they clear.
Sorry not much help, some one will be along that is more helpful

    Hey thanks for the welcome!

I will try that trick. None of the codes on that link match, but I'm bookmarking it for future reference.

BlimeyCabrio, Paul, can probably help. He has done a little work on his car. I know some of it was reprograming it.

    Just a guess here...
I suspect that the codes are appearing cause the abs/dsc system is seeing a mismatch in tire revolutions...not enough to throw a code, but enough for the computer at note for troubleshooting if it develops...
I would 1, reset the tpms system.... Then you might consider checking the wheel speed sensor's.... The mini inspection 2 (major) says to clean and lube them...almost nobody does, so they can get rusted in position...in that case, I'd wait till they fail...but still, you could check the wires and plugs for damage.
With some things, "watchfull waiting" can be a good thing....simply seeing how things develop..
    Welcome to m/a!!

You really need car specific software to make the most out of those codes.

Colin is right, and i will add almost every R53 out there has those rear wheel speed codes most of the time. all 4 of these are related, and will likely clear with the correct tool/software
