I know the S is a stonger engine but what will the Cooper engine take? I hear mine get a little stressed around 6500rpm which I think is the lifters rattling.

What do you think my 130,000 engine will take? I ask because if I fit the close ratio gear set I'll be visiting 6500 to 7000 more often. LOL

I miss the 7000 to 8000 rpm of the Suzuki engine. The race Suzuki GTI's do 9000+ wow!

It has a rev limiter, just run it up until it won't go any faster and you'll know!

When it blows, rebuild an S block with 10:1 pistons... Cheap (ish) and stronger!

Yup rev limiter removed also. The limit on the lifters is when they are pushed through the valve cover and dent your hood.

Chris it isn't your lifters that will spell the end. In fact they are sort of a hill jack rev limiter. Once you float them valves you aren't going to wind it out any higher. You'll need to figure out where they begin to float & shift just before. A shift light might not be a bad idea.

Like Modfather says when it goes blamo use a forged S crank & rods. :yesnod:
