    That is pretty stupid. Why even store anything in the first place? Make it an option to store I guess if the customer wants it. If it's required for the new digital machine to work, fine but why not store it in a flash type memory that only stores the last dozen or so copies.
    I like how the insurance company promises never to inadvertently release private info again, I hope they do all they can to prevent it but how can anyone promise not to do anything inadvertently?

    That's why I only use the copier/fax/digital sender at work! Before leased machines are returned, we remove the drives and destroy them. DoD has been aware of this issue for years now. It's expensive for the companies that rent the copiers though. They have to pay for the replacement (about 20x the actual cost) and the labor to do it.

    This is really good to know. I never would have guessed there was a hard drive storing all those scans.
