I want!!! Man that needs released here soon, so we can get rid of the Celica. Though this one will be my husband's car. Looks awesome!
Paceman = Countryman Coupe We had a thread about back here. http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/mini-news/12546-production-mini-paceman-called-countryman-coupe.html
Seems to me that the new Countryman Coupé occupies the same market space as the hatch. ??? MINI do we really need this model? How about making the current models more reliable instead of churning out another variant?
It sort of does fill that niche, but adds in all-wheel drive with the top model, which is why we want it. None of the hatches have that.
Maybe I will change my mind once I see it unwrapped but I don't really see the point. It does not look bad but does not seem to be much of a styling advantage to the lack or rear doors. When I had my Sunfire I got the two door model because it looked much better to me. If I were to get a Countryman I might as well go for the 4 door. Unless of course there are other advantages to the coupe I am currently unaware of.
Now if they came out with a MCS with AWD, that would be perfect! Maybe if enough people order AWD versions of the CM they will? Who knows. But for us, the Countryman Coupe will work well. We both have MINIs, and aren't stuck getting a Subaru.
I'd like to see this with the BMW 2.0 and about 285-300 hp and All4, that would be a car I'd be tempted to buy - however I have a feeling it would be over $50K. I like the looks of this, if it has the same wheelbase as the Countryman, it'll have plenty of room in back, and having All4 would make it perfect for those who live in winter zones or drive in snow. But MINI are rapidly pricing themselves out of my range, so I may have to wait a couple years for a good used one to pop up. Now, remember that Kia Soul concept of a few months ago? About the same size, all wheel drive, 250hp, $22K..........
