Saw my first Countryman in person today and I liked it. I noticed that you will never have a "missing toggle" problem with it, as the toggles all have a OEM function. There is a small strip at the bottom of the center stack, divided into square buttons, one is front fogs, one is Sport Button, one locks the windows and a couple of blanks. You do not really notice them at all. I also could not find "Rear Fog Lights". No place for them on the rear that I could see. I thought this was a requirement in Europe. The storage area is big. You can really put a lot in there.

Now, to get the wife there for a test drive.

I've had a few foreign cars where one of the red tail lights stays on as the "Fog light" option. Had lots of people say..... "Hey Bud, something wrong with one of your tail lights". So it's comforting to know they were working since they noticed me during inclement weather conditions. :D

I also noticed none of the current Craven or Kuda mounts will fit. Looks like two new product lines.

My production date moved up to next week. Looks like we'll get to do some winter driving.

Mark- How many weeks are people seeing between build dates & delivery? Our R53 took 6 weeks both times we ordered it. Although both times we were in production within a day of ordering.

You might be right on that one MM.

The center stack is similar to the current one, but changed enough that Kuda's won't work. The rev meter is recessed in a cut out in the dash, so mounting anything to the rear won't work. You don't think they knew about the after market products and did this in fort a reason do you? :frown2:

The first one was ordered on a Saturday & Monday morning it was being built. MAG took a MINI that was already ordered to their spec & changed the spec to mine. Well most of my spec anyway. :( The second one wasn't that fast, but it was only a matter of a few more days until it was built. :D

The dealer made my order one of theirs (I did not ask) and I drove the car off the lot 29 days after the order was placed.

Do u have to pay extra to have a mini produced to spec, or can u just buy off the lot?

Nope. Just design it at the MINI USA site, print it off, hand it to the dealer with a check for $1K and sit back a wait for it to arrive or you can buy one off the lot. Nothing to it.

+1 on the order exactly what you want. Mini makes the wait fun by giving you updates then you can track the ship after it leaves the UK. I just played with the builder and can not figure out what color looks best on the Countryman.
