Well today I have had a very close inspection of the countryman All4 S, and although I think the styling is quite ugly, I somehow find it quite cute and stylish too, so much so, I placed my order for one, and so my Clubbie will soon have a bigger quirky ugly brother.
I didn't think I would like it until I spent time with it at Columbus and Indy this week. Now I think it's great. Congrats...what color combo? Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk
Well done, I think this thing is going to sell well, and may bring about the demise of the Clubman....
Maybe I missed it on MF, but has there been a published projected date for the Countryman appearing on the MINI.USA configurator?
I also thought this thing was butt ugly when I first saw it, even in person. Now having seen it in different colors and on the road as well as the MTTS displays, I've warmed to it considerably, although I still don't think it's great looking. That said, all the non-Mini owners that went to the Infinty park event with me (sister, bro-in-law, nephew, brother and a couple others) thought it was cool, and really liked the idea that they could get a MINI with 4 doors and all wheel drive. I think this car may do very well in the market place, the real proof to me will be in the driving dynamics. There is so much more room inside this car too! Congrats on your new ride, I can't wait till our local dealer starts getting these in stock so I can drive one.
As of today, you cannot order one in the USA. You can get on a dealers early allocation list. We are in the first 8 at one of our dealers. We are thinking this will be a very nice replacement for the 04 Jeep GC with over 70K miles. The Jeep will become the dog-car. Thinking Countryman S ALL4 in Oxford Green, white roof/mirrors, 18s in anthracite, winter package, sunroof option, no full nav, but the phone/radio integration package for iphone/pod/touch. Of course, the real driver of the CM will get the final decision. We really liked it up at WP, got some good seat time. Don
A local club member has an All4 on order with the dealer (well, specced out anyway) and they told him to expect delivery in December!
Launch party in January, early orders direct can be done for early production, you might not get all your options. We shall see, I have a jaunt to the dealer planned for Tuesday. Don
I'm looking forward to a test drive of the Countryman... looks like fun. My wife has always liked the MINI, but wanted something a bit bigger and a bit softer than my R53. The Countryman All-4 might do the trick! Yea! Another MINI to mod! Does this bother anyone like it does me?
Think what the graphics people can do with those ears. We finalized our order on Saturday, looking like late December or first half on January. Per the dealer, production for the US spec. Countryman is to start in November. Expect the MINI USA site to have an update sometime in November so you can configure and price out options. The ALL 4 S with automatic and packages gets to be a pricey. We changed it up about 3 times and still wound up in the mid 30s. Pictures when we have them. :smile5: Don
