    It appears they do transport big MINI's that way. Maybe they don't fit in the normal carriers.

    BMW's and MINIs are normally shipped to the dealer via enclosed transport. Often you will find both BMW's and MINIs on the same truck at a shared dealer location.

    I've seen those closed BMW transporters too. Thought maybe they'd changed the type of truck they are using. Possibly those were sold to an auto broker who was having them transported.
