    Which side has to be replaced on yours ?

    My MB seal on the pully side is slightly seeping as is my oil pan gasket...:rolleyes5: ( @ 73,000 miles)

    I had the crank seal replaced at 34K.

    The seal on the left side of the motor. I have 44k on an R53.

    Gotta be an issue for at least a TSB ? From reading all the posts on this problem in last 12 months, it's a 1 Gen MINI MBS Pandemic.......

    I've only replaced a couple and one was in 02 when I worked at the dealer. I don't consider it to be a common failure. See more oil pan gaskets than anything.
