I just wanted to remind all that are interested the Powell Cruize-In Car show is tomorrow 8/12 10am-4pm. It is a great show with really good turnout of hotrods and classics. Here is the link to the .pdf for all the info: http://www.powellsertoma.org/activities/Cruize-inPigOut.pdf
Yep....a great show and now with the outside beer garden at Local Roots its a great place to hang out with some cold beer. I will be there.
We will be heading up there to check it out as well....Never been before... BTW, am I the only one who didn't know there is a Karting Classic held in Commercial Point, OH every year? We have lived here 20 years and have been riding our Harley's through there forever, and never knew about it. It was last weekend, and I got a hint when earlier in the week I saw hay bales on the side of the road. That was a great time. closing town streets to put on a Kart race....just so cool.... Jeff
Show was not bad. It appears to me that every year there are more new Corvettes, Camaros and Mustangs....not what I go to a car show to see!
Agreed, way too many. Still a good variety of others. Mark, thought you'd be sitting on the Local Roots patio? I'm here and you are not.
Oh, you are killing me! I actually saw more C2 "mid-year" Corvettes today than any other show in recent memory-the only "classic" Corvettes as far as I'm concerned...as soon as we got there, a guy was driving down main street in a red split-window '63....my knees buckled a little bit. I want one so bad... But the number of C4/C5/C6 Corvettes there......why??? None of those classify as a "classic" car, IMO....not even close...and there were a LOT of those....I just don't get it...somebody takes a bone stock, recent year Corvette, dresses it up with all of this chrome under the hood, and sticks it in a show.......to be judged-it's embarrasing for the rest of us who are hardcore Vette enthusiasts. Some very nice GTO's and Chevelle's. A V12 1940's-era Lincoln Continental-very sharp. Several very nice slammed and chopped trucks as well... But not a classic Cooper to be found anywhere.........................
I know for a fact that there are a lot of great classics, muscle cars and exotics sitting in garages in and around Powell.... I see them driving the streets every weekend. This is a good show that needs to reach out to those owners and improve the participation. They could also get Jegs to bring a super stock car and Auto Assets to bring a couple of his SVRA race cars. The show just needs cranked up a bit.
I made a pass in the Mini around 4:30. I thought about showing off a little pit and spray but I didn't want any trouble
