This week is pretty tame with no oddities. All of the below is pretty standard. With the weather turning cooler I'm not at all surprised to see hard squashes starting to show up.

Boston Bibb Lettuce - from Van Scoy Farms in Ridgeway, OH

English Cucumbers - from Van Scoy Farms in Ridgeway, OH

Curly Parsley - from Jorgensen Farms in Westerville, OH

Sage - from Jorgensen Farms in Westerville, OH

Reba White Potatoes - from Slocal Partners in Marysville, OH

Acorn Squash - from Blossom Acres in Millersburg, OH

Copra Onions - from Blossom Acres in Millersburg, OH

Tomatoes - from Happy HIll Farm in OH

I've read these onions have a high sugar content making them very good for Onion Soup. If so and the cost on 10lbs of them is reasonable it looks like there is a big batch o' soup in the near future.

:cornut: This is why I'm so impressed Nathan; a person who knows what's wrong with their life style/body and have decided to do something about it and 'Stick To The Plan'. Most people can't 'stick to it' after they lose some pounds and go right back to their old habits and gain the weight right back while 'celebrating' their weight loss with ice cream and chocolate cream pies. Yeah Nathan, go get'em we're all with you!(and hopefully you won't end up diabetic like many of us).

Oy..this week is going to be quite the challenge.

German Extra Hardy Garlic from Dangling Carrot Farm in Williamsport, OH

Goat Milk Feta from Integration Acres in Albany, OH

Red and Green Mustard Greens from Blossom Acres in Millersburg, OH

Yukon Gold Potatoes from Yoder Family Farm in Millersburg, OH

Pie Pumpkin from Blossom Acres in Millersburg, OH

Swiss Chard from Dangling Carrot Farm in Williamsport, OH

Red Delicious Apples from Glen Hill Orchards in Mount Vernon, OH

Swiss Chard and Mustard Greens. Talk about your bitter greens!

I think I'm going to take them and make a panade. If it comes out well I'll add it to the recipe section.

Now I have 2 pumpkins, I have yet to use the one from 2 weeks ago. They do look nice on my bakers rack though. Quite seasonal. I'm thinking a Curry Roasted Pumpkin Soup, but I need to get an immersion blender first.

Merlin Beets from Wayward Seed Farm in Marysville, OH

Jonathan Apples from Bauchman's Farm in Carroll, OH

Green Mustard Greens from Blossom Acres in Millersburg, OH

Daikon Radish from Eli Barkman in Holmes County, OH

Thinking a little about this the apples and pears will probably be for snacking. The beets roasted and used a side at dinner and the rest, well I have time to figure uses.

:cornut: Nathan, that local honey would do well in treating allergy symptoms at a teaspoon 2-3 times per day. Adding lemon or lime juice and a jigger of whiskey is up to you.

And if you like local honey there is a little place right down the street from Tim Hortons for great local honey.

This week brings us back to some more standard fare.

Cheese Curds from Blue Jacket Dairy in Bellefontaine, OH

Head Lettuce from Bird's Haven Farms in Granville, OH

Gala Apples from Bauman Orchards in Rittman, OH

Blue Gold Potatoes from Slocal Partners in Marysville, OH

Cauliflower from Blossom Acres in Millersburg, OH

Table Star Squash from Blossom Acres in Millersburg, OH

Cherry Tomatoes from VanScoy Farms in Ridgeway, OH

Carrots from Keim Organic Farm in Apple Creek, OH

I had to look up the Table Star Squash, it looks to be a variety of Acorn Squash. This semi-bush winter squash produces acorn-type fruits of outstanding quality. The very dark, near black fruits measure 4-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches with smooth, sweet and tasty golden flesh.

I'm getting a squash stockpile here. Have to find a way to use them all soon.
