Jim, the uprising has ended. Hate to break it to you, the North prevailed.

 

This week is pretty tame with no oddities. All of the below is pretty standard. With the weather turning cooler I'm not at all surprised to see hard squashes starting to show up.

I've read these onions have a high sugar content making them very good for Onion Soup. If so and the cost on 10lbs of them is reasonable it looks like there is a big batch o' soup in the near future.

 

Oy..this week is going to be quite the challenge.

I think I'm going to take them and make a panade. If it comes out well I'll add it to the recipe section.

Now I have 2 pumpkins, I have yet to use the one from 2 weeks ago. They do look nice on my bakers rack though. Quite seasonal. I'm thinking a Curry Roasted Pumpkin Soup, but I need to get an immersion blender first.

 

For this week they sure did send out the notice of whats included early.

I had to look up the Table Star Squash, it looks to be a variety of Acorn Squash. This semi-bush winter squash produces acorn-type fruits of outstanding quality. The very dark, near black fruits measure 4-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches with smooth, sweet and tasty golden flesh.

I'm getting a squash stockpile here. Have to find a way to use them all soon.

 

This weeks is rather interesting. Have to pick up some bacon from the butcher too. Brussels Sprouts n' bacon, one can't go wrong.
