    What impressed me was that I think it was De Rooy (the turquoise IVECO above) on one very fast and not very twisty stage would have got 6th place in the car class with his winning truck. They may not the slickest thing round bends but those trucks do go fast when opened up - 750hp!

    It looks like NBC Sports will have a half hour show on the Dakar starting

    on 1-6 at 5:00 pm and all the following days to the end of the rally. The

    half hour is not much but better than nothing.

    To truly enjoy the two-week rally, it’s best to be one of the participants, crew members or on-the-ground-spectators. Fox Sports will provide daily update coverage as it did last year. The Dakar Facebook page and YouTube channel will also be good sources for regular online updates.
