So you folks with hardtops can see a difference with these?
I also had no idea that these were replacement lenses. I assumed it was an overlay material Lamin-X style. -

I would say the difference would not be as dramatic in a tintop as it is for the vert, but still. Specially if your lenses are old, or scratched up from cleaning, it is well worth it.

OK, just curious, but where do you get these lenses and how much are they?
 -
ScottinBend Space CowboySupporting MemberLenses are still scratch free for the most part and are still in good shape. So I guess I will hold off for now.
Thanks -

I'll bet you can't touch it at that price from the stealers. And the oem doesn't have the A-R coating.:nonod:
 -
	I'm sure you're right. I'm just a cheapskate!

the lenses are GLASS coated with majic anti reflective goodness.
totally worth the $60 - seriously
just pull the trigger already, you'll be so happy you did... -

The lenses are glass......WOW
Makes this it a much better alternative all the way around. -

Glass?!? Hmmm, maybe not so great in an accident.
Just sayin. -
	ScottinBend Space CowboySupporting Member
I assume this is a film applied to the glass and therefore not a safety hazard.

Sure is a lot of guessing going on.
I'm guessing there is no glass. It's all plastic (acrylic), with a A/R vapor deposition coating applied. Same / similar to what is applied to plastic lenses on reading glasses.
Irrespective of the product, it's much better (and lower cost) than what can be purchased as a replacement from MINI. So in the long run, we all lucked out that MINI design gave us all a flat lens surface, or this improvement wouldn't be available to us all.:arf:
Oh, and thanks to RKW, for making this available.
