Unfortunately, the FREE aspect is the Achilles heel. If no one has to pay, then sign up for everything, and show up for what you want. There is no penalty for no showing, other then being totally NOT COOL in not allowing another to go on it, due to one's greediness.

I've joined in on several day drives over the years without being registered. For whatever reason, people feel the need to rush and sign up to a drive just for the sake of doing so.
One run last year had 30 people registered and only 11 actually showed up. I'd like to see a survey of drive leaders and see how many were actually full at time of departure over the last couple of years.-

There are thirteen drives that have maps you could download so far. Go to MOTD home page, click on schedule then look for maps on right side of drives. My wife and I printed a few last year to drive when we had some down time. Hope this helps.

My drive is easy...it's the Cheroholla Skyway. You can drive it any time, and it's not hard to find.

I agree with you. But as has been told to me when I suggested cash donations for the food bank through registration, it adds a layer of complexity that the organizer would rather not have.
My suggestion for folks who want to go on a booked up drive. Show up & see if there is room. Or get a few friends together & have your own drive, at a different time so the ending point is not overwhelmed by more folks than they expect. The maps are available for your use.
Just an idea.-

They lunch in Murphy Drive (Friday a.m.) (hosted by the MINI Skirts) was full up last year and not even 1/2 showed up - so I THINK that is generally what happens but not sure about all drives - this was our first year to host this drive - so we are hoping to get everyone to come this year that signs up!
Come on give us a try!

I will been leading the Cherahola Dinner Drive on Thursdays for the 5th year. And as typically happens 75% of those that sign up show up. Maybe with the new signup system we can eliminate that problem.

Thanks for all the responses.
I guess if there's room, a last minute tag-along is fine. -

sorry I did not see this sooner. My goal is to have a map for each drive. (so far my real job is preventing that from happening).
Last year we had alot of no shows. That was a large reason why I create the whole acccount system so folks could delete themselves from any drives they are not going to attend. I guess time will tell if that helps or not. -

It was well worth the time and the scenery was gorgeous!:biggrin5: -
If the drive is full, and remains full, will people be actually turned away?
