Anyone else planning to watch any of the 24 hours at Daytona this weekend? Starts in less than 3 hours. Big field this year. 15 hours will be shown live on Speed, the first 8 hours starting at 3P (Eastern) and then the last 7 hours. Looks like they might show the full 24 hours online -- SPEED Streaming -- I think with Radio LeMans doing the commentary. Or you can just listen via radiolemans.com
I'll be watching & then recording while I  Any news on how RSR did in the Continental race? I know they don't have MINIs, but they are a good group of friends.
I just saw it pointed out that since this is a race in the northern hemisphere in January there will be more racing in the dark (13 hours +/-) than in daylight. Speed have obviously opted to broadcast mostly daylight running -- less people watch at night anyway -- from 3P to 11P and then 9A - 4P tomorrow. I think the race itself doesn't start until 3:30 with the first half hour of broadcast the usual pre-race show nonsense which I often skip, but given the very mixed bag of participants and cars it's probably worth it to tune in early this time.
It's a pretty easy race to follow even at night now, with all the lighting around the track - not like when I went and watched it live in '79. My only gripe.....do they pay the broadcasters by the word? These guys never shut up!
If it gets annoying, try muting the TV and listening to the Radio LeMans audio for a while. They're motormouths as well but at least it's a different group of them.
Rally drivers aren't driving cars scaring 200mph and overtaking cars going 150mph...every single lap...
This is odd. Speed died on my cable broadcast. All other channels work fine. Rebooting the cable box doesn't work either.
Correct, but those guys aren't flyin by trees & cliffs at 100+ either. Both disciplines take large attachments. :yesnod:
Hmmmmm.... Soooo.... How does this sound??? "One of the fastest fabricators on the planet"??? Heh heh heh...
Soooo.... When they do a pit stop and a driver change... How do they deal with seat fitment / comfort? Or... Are the replacement drivers all physically the same?....
