Me either, my Dad spent close to five years in Europe during/after the war.

If it were not for all those guys we wouldn't be sitting here now banging

on these keyboards.

 

I mention it and will never forget.

 

There was a local memorial celebration here in the Columbus area. All the local news shows did have coverage. More than just a passing story too, they went in depth.

 

Some folks remember, only a bit on FB today, I have not turned on the tube, so don't know what the newsies have been saying.

Anything over 10 minutes ago is not news. Guess I will go see if the world news has a mention.
