Thanks for the link Randy. Guess we will have to see if the reinvented wheel works. We'll know soon. I wish them luck & success.

DELTAWING TIDBITS — The Nissan DeltaWing completed a staggering 500 miles on a single set of Michelin tires, between the laps run at the test day as well as Wednesday’s practice and qualifying. And it’s not only great tire wear but also excellent fuel mileage, as Ben Bowlby tells SPEED.com that he expects for it to run 12 laps... with a 40-liter fuel tank. Compare that to the diesel-powered Audis, which should run 13 laps on 63 liters. -

Incredible! The DeltaWing is listed as first in class!
Of course when there's only one car in your class you get to be both first and last at the same time. :biggrin5: -
After a early unscheduled pit stop, me thinks they may have overtook themselves.......

Right now the two Audis are the only cars on the lead lap!
If this turns into an Audi rout, do you think they'll come back next year? -
Yes.

In one dumb move takajima takes out one of , if not the most, interesting car on the track and hands the LMP 1 win to Audi .The sponsors must be crying their eyes out. It would be interesting to see how much of a drop the viewership took from the 6 hr on . Such a shame no matter who you were rooting for. The 2102 six hours of Le mans , great race

The Sun is the very bottom of the British newspaper food chain, but their DeltaWing crash article at least had some good headlines:
Smack! Baddies wreck Batmobile
BAM! Pow! Holy jeepers, the Batmobile has hit the wall! -

Just a little of the hour and a half that Satoshi Motoyama spent trying to get the car drivable to get it back to the pits:

Whilst the Deltawing was a very interesting piece, who proclaimed it the "fan favorite?"
It was hardly this fan's favorite..... There were so many very fast cars with interesting technologies racing each other in their respective classes...that the race was hardly over when the wing hit the wall...:screwy:
We wish the experiment had lasted longer but alas it just didn't....
