If they were going about it as most do with real new concepts instead of like the flying car that after years of talk...well, never flew then I for one might take them more serious. But this smells like a scam. Remember they had all these computer simulations and so called experts sitting around talking about it too... Heck build a scale RC model for cripes sake....
What has you so upset about this? :confused5: Worst case, it IS a scam... Who cares? The PR it has generated doesn't do anything but draw more attention and bigger crowds to a great form of motorsport that isn't NASCAR. Works for me. Best case, it is the real deal and we get to see what a top fuel dragster looks like on a road course... Also works for me. :biggrin5:
True and I'm not upset about it. They speculate that it will and I speculate it won't, keeps the conversation going...
I couldn’t agree more. I think the thing is ugly, but it is interesting. Part of what makes racing interesting is new ideas. This is certainly new. Congratulations to them for trying something different. If it works I will be surprised.
The thing that really gets me is that the physics of it look all wrong. Remember when Honda came out with the 3 wheeler atv.........they got banned after they figured out it tipped over to easily. Wider track up front leads to better handling.

With all the talk of taking the downforce off the back and how the turbulence causes the car behind to loose grip and so on in Nascar, sports car racing and F1, I just was wondering if the delta shape would make this worse or the same or have no effect on cars behind it trying to pass. I can't see that pointy nose having any effect on a car it's trying to pass tho.... Wouldn't it be wild if this thing really works well, and someone takes it to F1?
