Maybe poor Peter is just unlucky, eh? -
Ehhh..it looked to me like the P1 car was the cause here by cutting across the pit out to get in front the P-Car.

Re the DW finishing 5th (after the penalty to that P2 car), it depends who you ask.....
Some say since it wasn't classified, technically it didn't finish. These people are splitting hairs, obviously. The car both ran and finished. In one sense though there's a good point to be made from this splitting of hairs.
Technically, the car (and drivers) that finished ahead of the DW got the championship points for finishing 4th and the car (and drivers) that finished behind the DW got the points for finishing 5th, etc. The DW ran unclassified so its actual finishing position is irrelevant to everyone counting championship points ... and everyone who wished all the way through to the very last lap that the DW would either perform miserably or crash and burn to the ground is jumping on the same logical bandwagon.
And they're right, technically. But who cares? The rest of us saw it run flawlessly and not only finish but cover more laps than the majority of the field in the process...just like you're supposed to do in an endurance race.
Moving on, and changing the subject somewhat, here's a cool pic. Petit Le Mans at night:
