Looks like you might be right. :biggrin5: I like the all black look but maybe they need to switch to high vis ... any color ought to be easier to spot than all black.
Video! Holy crap, talk about a hip check! The guy in the Porsche blames the DW driver...thoughts? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW7qaG9K2_c]Nissan DeltaWing - Attacked in Atlanta - YouTube[/ame]
:cornut: Great vis could be achieved with, oh say, University of Texas Burnt Orange. It allowed OU to stay away from us and score something like 58 points.:mad2::mad5::incazzato::lol::lol::lol::lol: :cornut: I'm not a race driver but, it appears to me that puke green Porsche doesn't know how to properly recover after going partially off of the track with out endangering our hero. I'd like to here race drivers comment though. Jason
Not surprisingly, the two drivers saw it differently. Deltawing driver Gunnar Jeannette: Porsche driver Peter LeSaffre:
Uh.......it was pretty clear to me the P-Car was two wheels off and trying to get back on right where the curbing was ending, all he had to do was let off a tiny bit and let the Wing get the rest of the way ahead, they're not even in the same class fer crikey's sake..... I mean he hit the Delta in the left rear tire, another nanosecond later and they'd both still be racing. His steering wheel may have been straight, but his car was pointing about 45* to the right..... However, it does point out how vulnerable this car seems to be due to the weight disparity. The Toyota that hip checked it out of the Le Mans race barely touched it and it couldn't recover. At one point it looked like the driver was holding the car up with his head!
Porsche driver Peter LeSaffre: Quote: “I had no place to go,” he said. “I was tracking out on the curb. My steering wheel was straight, and he whacked me. There is quite a bit of traffic and a lot of turns where you should not pass even if you’re in a P1 car. It comes down to being patient.” If that is LeSaffre's recollection and attitude, they should do everyone a favor and send him home.

Back to the Porsche slamming the DeltaWing, yep I put the blame on the Porsche driver. That DeltaWing looks fast.
Qualified among the P2 cars, 10th overall. The driver claims he had speed to spare but that's all they needed.
I think I know why they decided to not push for an even better result during qualification. The official quali results show the DW 42nd out of 42 cars because they have to start from the rear.
Starting from the back means exposure to even more clueless drivers, hope they can negotiate the backwaters successfully...... I still like the flag idea, or maybe a strobe light on top like our local school busses?
They added high vis red on top of the roll hoops but it's not enough. The car is small, low and roughly the same color as the asphalt...they can only change that last part. I like the strobe idea though, either right on the nose or one on top of each pylon. :biggrin5:
You can see the red roll hoops in this post-qual video. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_6HgV_qkyY]Fit to Run: DeltaWing Ready for Petit Le Mans - YouTube[/ame]
I say they paint it bright glitter red so other drivers can see it. The Strealth look is not working in traffic unless they add some small cruise missiles.
