    Cool!

A buddy from Highschool and I learned to paint by painting our own cars and then other kid's cars. He started a body shop and I helped him for a while, before I went off to school

His shop is now a high end restoration and custom auto shop, he has won scads of awards.

The first question he asked his mother was "Mom, what's a Kryptonite?"

In an attempt to postpone this discussion for a future time when she could fully explain and he would be old enough to understand, she suggested he go outside to play with his sled for now.

And then the blizzard hit. They are cut off from the rest of the world under 8ft of snow for 3 weeks. Out of fuel, out of food, out of gin...the mother must make a decision.

Here is an example of an inset stencil in a patina job...

The stencil is applied in between the first base coat, and the color coat so when you sand down into the layers the stencil is revealed in the color, and not the patina. [emoji12]

Eventually Chris I will! Building up a small base of clientele now makes it better for when I can finally set up a small shop at the base of the Dragon. [emoji2]

That is my main goal. [emoji12]

I've got a really cool mirror cap job coming down the pipe... Not at all my style, but hey if anybody can pull off what she wants done, I'm the guy for it! [emoji12]

All I am going to say is, its going to be a fairly labor intensive job involving a lot of these (see attached pic VVV) and lots of sparklies. [emoji12]

Just ordered another $70 worth of various flakes and pearls for upcoming projects, and to buildup a small stock of commonly used stuff. Having all the different colors on hand will cut turn around times by 3 days or more. [emoji12]

I decided to paint my POS Mustang II when I was 16. On the positive side, the paint stuck to the car. It also had a bit of texture to it. It didn't look bad... at night, from fifty feet away. Another teenage "learning experience." :frown2:

At the place I worked in high school the shipping guy painted his Ford Wagon with exterior latex in green with a roller. Even the back side windows.
