The pretty lady's mirrors: Take 2...

Starting off with a touch of heavy splatter around the bottom edge, then a good coating of that very special pure white base... [emoji12]

I saw something like your technique recently used for painting a model tank. I would think the scale would have to be big enough to survive the multiple coats of paint.

They used a chipping fluid from AK Interactive instead of sanding the base coat. I guess from the walk through this was previously done with hair spray.

Then something happened thats never happened before... I got comfortable enough to take down the basecoat with somebody else sitting next to me! We're dealing with 1/4 of a millimeter here, one slip can lead to a big problem, and I normally have to be totally alone in order to get it right! [emoji2]

Just the right amount of patina...

The flake is on and HEAVY!

There is no clear built up to level it yet... Still have a few minutes. [emoji6]

The sandpaper roughness is the flakes all sitting at different angles, which creates that massive glitter sparkle effect.... Until the clear is built up to level it, this is what it looks like, not much wow factor!

Be back in about 45 minutes! [emoji12]

I just posted on FB that I messed them up again! [emoji12]

They are really fine, just having a little fun, as I prep the Rat-MINIs original R53 wing to get primered... Then it goes to Italy! [emoji2]
