Just got the design drawn up for Goldsmithy's Greene Performance coolant tank drawn up! Not going to show it, because I like to keep people guessing about what everything will look like until its done. But I will show you this... That is the gold flake that will be used in his project! It is twice the size of flake I normally use, and looks INCREDIBLE! Hopefully it sprays good, and lays down flat, tomorrow, we will find out!
Just keep an eye out for things you like Paul... I'm doing a lot of different stuff now! You might like the rust sculpture I am doing for a friend in MINI5280, and given your recent circumstances, you have plenty of old parts on your hands to build one!
Doing something different with my GTT strut bar is the most obvious choice. I'm trying to keep the exterior and interior flavor of the car pretty true to the GP1 OEM theme, at least for a while. But the gloves are off in the engine bay.... and that strut bar is a great canvas. Just don't know what I'd have you do with it, quite yet. Still needs to fit in the overall theme... Maybe with matching cabrio braces and hard engine and transmission mounts... which have all been red, in the past... I really liked what you did with the distressed candy valve cover...
Sounds like a good idea Paul! The Mazda valve cover, or the Rat's cover? Anyhow, starting the base colors on the coolant tank, just got the surface prep done, time to mask it, hang it, and shoot some primer!
The 3 colors for the base are on... This is what the sweet Gold flake will go down on after this is knocked down to show all 3 colors. Expect a long delay, I had to spray the spatter coat with the paint THICK to get the right droplets.
Here it is! Keep in mind that you will see this through the gold flake! I like it as is, but it will be getting a lot more... It screams Taco Joint to me! Fits with the "theme" behind this mess.
The flake is AMAZING! The camera on my phone can't pick it up in the sun it reflects so bright! Keep on DROOLING Goldsmithy! This is just the base, still lots more to do, but can't until I get your graphics back from Kristan @ ArtisticReflection.com (same girl who makes the Eyeshades sun visors... She is local what can I say) It is also as far as I am going to let you see, due to my "surprise policy" but, if you like it so far, you're going to when you see it next!
And if you are wondering, here's the tire in the sun... Trust me, the camera can't pick it up! https://vimeo.com/139090071 Notice in the video that there is also a spattered gold candy in the leveling clear...
Got a couple better pictures, but I swear they are the lat ones... In the sun... The stencil's are getting prepared to be cut out as I type this!
