Then something happened thats never happened before... I got comfortable enough to take down the basecoat with somebody else sitting next to me! We're dealing with 1/4 of a millimeter here, one slip can lead to a big problem, and I normally have to be totally alone in order to get it right! Just the right amount of patina...
Then this morning, more flakes added... One Just for CCT, I know what you're thinking... Then the beautiful candy coat!
Right before the first update of the day, I drug the table out into the sun... Beautifully perfect! Just the right amount of candy. Next up is peeling decals and the part I messed up last time, shooting the True Blue flakes.
That looks better than it did the first time, and the first time looked damned good...Nice job, can't wait to see the finished product!
The flake is on and HEAVY! There is no clear built up to level it yet... Still have a few minutes. The sandpaper roughness is the flakes all sitting at different angles, which creates that massive glitter sparkle effect.... Until the clear is built up to level it, this is what it looks like, not much wow factor! Be back in about 45 minutes!
Sunshine! Still not done... Have 2 more stencils to use... But these need a good long bake in the sun before that happens...
Damn! That should get you in the horizontal position for sure... She's gonna want the whole car done like that, just you wait....
LOL! I just posted on FB that I messed them up again! They are really fine, just having a little fun, as I prep the Rat-MINIs original R53 wing to get primered... Then it goes to Italy!
At the risk of repeating myself... They are beautiful, just frickin' beautiful! Now all she needs is a picture of Olaf on the hood.
Thanks guys, they are all prep'ed and ready to get the last set of stencils. Told you they were fine!
Gotcha Vetsvette! Thanks 00, and Erik! Longest masking job EVER for something so small! Literally just got done!
Going to have to do the final clear first thing in the morning... Had to build up a lot, just for the last two snowflakes, and I'm kinda beat... They will be glass smooth!
