Way back when the R53's were new, they had an optional accessory gauge cluster down next to the cup holders. One of the gauges was oil temp, and came with the sending unit for the gauge built into the drain plug for the oil pan.

ScanguageII......or a good app for the phone.

 

Dash Command app, plus a $12 Bluetooth transmitter that plugs into the OBD II port. This probably isn't as comprehensive a combination as you're looking for, though.

 

I have a Scangauge II in my car.



Not very fancy but it works with the benefit of letting me reset codes.

 

I use my Garmin....

I've got mine set to display Boost, Water Temp, Intake Air temp, and Ignition timing.

Others displays you can set on the Scangauge include :
Battery Voltage
Engine Load
Miles/Liters per gallon
Fuel pressure
Fuel system loop
Throttle position
RPM
MPH
Manifold Absolute Pressure

plus you can program your own gauges using xcode and reading whatever you can get from your OBDII port.

Boost is based on the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) gauge.

 

Adding a sensor, either the factory plug sensor, or drill and tap the filter housing.
