Did you read the second sentence under bikes?
And you can be sure that the actual language of the statutes are a little more succinct than what the drivers manual states. I know, because my job req's interaction with bike riders and I have had to have the local law enforcement come to "educate" those riders who feel that they are entitled to all areas of the road whether riding alone or in a peloton.

Just want to thank all the 'serious' posts on driving the Dragon. As a 'first timer' I really appreciate all the tips and tricks. Keep them coming...
As far the Prozac is concerned...it really helps in reading DaveO's posts.
Because people seem to take jokes personally...I AM JUST JOKING.-

Well this sucks!!! I just live for the thrill of rounding a corner and having a truck blocking the road. What next? Harley riders that move over? I hope not!!

Agreed with Dave, even though I dont like it, and would require hefty registration and insurance fees with a mandatory life insurance policy for road going bikes, and a 2 foot orange triangle signifying that they are designed to travel at less than a 25MPH average speed. I have to accept that they are here. I just wish the LEO would start enforcing the regulations that are in place for them... Single file, faster mode of transportation has the right of way (Cars), that would make dealing with them easier.

And no, riding on highways on a bicycle is asinine (not to mention illegal)... and if you're going to do that, you're asking for it.
I enjoy bombing backroads just as much as anyone else here, but it's your responsibility to simply keep your eyes open and pay attention. We have equal right to the road as you do in your 4-wheeled cage. And FYI... you don't have the right of way. Share the road.
Now, as a cyclist with common sense... I'd never ride the Dragon on a bicycle.-

Not this agin! Zillon this was a big brew HaHa before you joined I believe. What everyone was trying to say is that some (not all) cyclist are rude and that puts them at risk. Last year I saw a guy riding a bicycle on the Dragon. You said that is not the place for it I agree. No one means any harm and we know each other here so the jokes can get harsh but it is a joke.
Lets not go down this road agin (there may be a bicycle on it)

That should be the rule everywhere!
Pretty sure everybody here grew up with their parents saying "stay out of the street or you're going to get hit!" Now all of a sudden the cars aren't supposed to be the ones on the road?-

It's incredible how quick people are to discount the lives of others just because getting to their destination is more important. For a 'friendly' MINI forum, you guys are awfully hostile.-

This all started when Dave cast out a joke ( a FRIENDLY jabbing) and you took it AWFULLY serious. If you don't get jabbed on here or you don't take it well.....well....

And conversely, cyclists need to recognize that as users of the road, they are subject to the same laws and regulations as drivers of motor vehicles. FWIW, I do stop at stop signs, signal when turning or changing lanes, and stay on the proper side of the road.
I have exceeded the speed limit, though...
And succinct = short... I think you meant to say that the actual laws were more long-winded than the drivers manual states.-
