A height restriction bar would actually work...
Set it a 9 feet, so any normal car or pickup will clear it, but anything bigger wont. -

They could make it open like a gate, and make local LEO escort the bigger stuff...
Still does nothing for the bag draggin motorcycles, but at least people have sense enough around there not to clog it up with pedal bikes. -

Well said Colin.

FWIW, as a cyclist, I'm not a fan of people describing us as 'targets.'
Anyways, really glad to see Tennessee finally wising up and banning the behemoths from the dragon. Really hoping to make it down there this year. -

F that share the road crap.
If you have never been to the Dragon in a car or on a bike you have no idea of what you are talking about.
Why don't you tell me how it is biking on Mars is since you have never been there but you have an opinion.
Your posts on the Dragon are completely irrelevant since you have no idea about the road and have never been on it. -
Other roads, fair game. The Dragon, no.
And for what it's worth, I have family down in that neck of the woods, right outside of Robbinsville. I'm very familiar with the area. You can start sucking on your foot now, please. -
Hey, I can't take responsibility for my fellow cyclists. Just as most drivers suck, there are some shitty cyclists out there, too.
So, let's get back to discussing less volatile things. -

Around here there are a few responsible cyclists that will at least move to the shoulder for oncoming traffic, but for every one of them theres at least 10 that are ass hats.
Share the road... That works both ways! -

Understood that Dave was poking fun, but others seem to be pretty serious about their hostility towards bicyclists.
As someone who's nearly been run over, even while riding on the shoulder of the road, I don't take the whole 'car vs. bicyclist' thing as a laughing matter. -

Here's my take...
In the first paragraph under Bicycles, it states that they will be treated as a motor vehicle...
Say you're driving a lifted 1988 Suzuki Samurai that can barely turn its 33" tires on flat ground, but you are going up a steep mountain grade and cant even get out of first gear and are putting along at 5MPH... You notice a line of cars forming behind you in your mirrors, what do you do?
FFS, you pull off the road, stop and let the traffic go around! Cyclists wont do this in CO for some reason! They will plant themselves weaving in the lane at a snails pace trying to pedal up the mountain not caring if there is a mile long line of cars behind them who just want to be able to get where they are going. Why not do the respectable thing, stop your bike and let traffic pass.
They argue "it ruins the workout, because their heart rate will drop"... Ok so one of the cars in the line behind you contains a mother to be in labor... Sorry to "ruin your workout" but you can get a problem free workout in a gym, prego cant have a baby by herself in a car trapped behind you. -

My point exactly! Maybe its all the Colorado cyclists who think they are Lance Armstrong who ruined my perspective on the whole debate. But in all actuality if a cyclist shows me respect by noticing I am there, and moving out of the way, I will take the entire oncoming lane (if sightline and terrain permits) to go around them.
Its the inconsiderate who ruin it for everybody.
