I've heard some people talking about places that have lifts and stuff that you can rent bays for car maintenance. First, this seems like a crazy legal liability. But, second, anyone know of any in/around Columbus? When I was in the Air Force, we had access to the autoshop for free. Was pretty cool.
We have a couple here in KC too, the owner just carries a blanket insurance policy, and he always has someone there to help people get started. He's actually making a little money with his operation too!
A DIY garage sure beats seeing all those guy's working on their vehicles out in the front parking lot of Autozone.....
The guy in our area is really reasonable too, I think he charges $10/hr for a two post lift, and he provides all the tools! If you need to be on the lift for a week like I did when we worked on my friends 2002 S (clutch, new front end parts, supercharger, water pump, shift cables etc.) he'll make a good deal for extended use too.
um no. yellowpages dot com is even more worthless than the print version. (you can use the book if your kids seat is too low )
here is one.. near akron ... just to show such things exist usikc.net or google "brunswick diy garage rent a lift" Must have a word with these guys about choosing searchable name for their company
If you know anyone in the military you can typically get on bases that have auto shops with lifts and typically some hand tools. They rent them for a couple bucks per hour. Not sure what bases might be around here though.
