I park next to other Minis when I can so they can see how clean a Mini should be kept.

I'll only park next to another MINI if they "get it" and don't park so dang close to the other cars. The MINI must park bonnet out too. That's just part of the code of MINI ethics that must be obeyed!

I always park in the nearest space available to another MINI.

Yes...particularly if it's obvious that the preexisting MINI has enjoyed lots of TLC from its owner. Not only is it an opportunity to "share the love" but it's likely that the other enthusiast is just as averse to door dings as you are. It's some built-in safety margin on the common boundary.

Sometimes...and I slip a Motoring Alliance Spotter Card on it too.

Same here...I enjoy parking next to other MINIs when I can find them, and esp. if they're well kept.
A guy here at the office has a darlk blue / silver custom paint R50, I stopped and said hello one morning. I'd park next to him, but he always parks near the trees (that "spit", sap or honeydew or something, and it's a B to get off!). -

Other MINIs seem to find me! Last week, walked out of the local convenience store to see this blue R53 parked next to my car
And in May while traveling to NY for business, found my car surrounded by two 'verts in the morning in the hotel garage.

I do it as well. Actually, one parked next to me at work the other day and I got all excited, wondering who's it was. Never saw it again though, must have been a visitor.

Always! Here at work there are 4 MCS, 1 Justa, and 2 Countrymen in our garage on a regular basis. I get here first in the mornings, but usually will find the others parked nearby.
I park in the spot up against the stairwell, as it means I can put the passenger side right up near the wall and it gives me enough room to open my door the entire way and still be in my spot. Works great for me knees. Though I've had to leave a few notes on SUV windshields about staying in their own spot, and that I did not park that way so they could steal some of my spot... (none of those have ever parked next to me again either, hmmm).
At Target once we had 5 MINIs in a group, it was awesome! 1 of them was a little classic guy. I love those, and man it made the rest of ours look like giants, LOL. Going into a restaurant once after parking next to a hardtop version of my May, the guy that owned her came out as I was at the door, and he gave me a high-five.
