I just feel the net is a tool/education piece. IT just so happens that communities pop up out of a certain thing/item/car/whatever. Where there is info to be had, why not embrace it and learn from it? Sure, there are some jack asses along the way, but that is life in general.

I am a member of a few "specialized" type forums, and love that I can learn from my online peers.

LOL Yeah just a bit. Rehearsal, getting things done with dress, make sure everything is ready to go and washing and waxing the MINI since it's going to be in the wedding pictures :)

I became a full fledged Mini owner when my partner decided to upgrade to a clubby. I had demonstrated the requisite car care and driving skills. Now my '04 is cleaner and better kept than her '07. I love being online to get extra advice on parts, mods, and general Mini fun. We did obsessively track the Clubman online, even watched it go through the Panama Canal!

I don't think I would understand as much about cars and have met as many other car enthusiasts (not just MINIs) if not for the internet. It's been great. I've also learned to be careful and ultimately have the decide for myself what information is right and what is wrong.

    ...and congratulations, MinixB

I've been fortunate enough to have been on-line with the MINI boards for 5 years now. Meeting those that you've talked to on-line and the fellowship of being involved with the MINI community is just another reason for me to keep buying MINI's. So my answere is definately...yes

Its a great place to get input form the best source; Mini Owners !

Forget taking it to a shop, just type in your problem and someone will tell you what is wrong and most of the time, how to fix it !

Absolutely! My clubman was 4 weeks old when my fiance just happened to meet a dog that wanted to see if it could cross the road before the MINI could get to it... the dog lost and the MINI took $5,000 worth of damage. LONG story shortened the repair was unsatisfactory and I didn't want them to keep trying to make it right and keep making it worse...

Thanks to Way Motor Works and Orangecrush's body shop she is perfect again and I'm happy. BTW, each did work free, bought a CAI from Way and he installed that free and did a free inspection of the work done by the other shop. Paid a small portion of the cost of materials used at Orangecrush's but not nearly what it should have been (he wouldn't accept more). All of this for the sake of making a new MINI owner happy again.

Yup, met them on NAM and meeting each of them was a great experience! It hooked me on the "MINI experience" for life.
