LOL Dave! It was actually an assignment and we are doing the valves and lifters right now until we breakdown our donated motors at school and he just wanted us to to see what we could find. So i decided to ask you guys for your help/input. What I'm trying to wrap my brain around is "what the hell is valve overlap"-

It does not require it, and it depends on how the motor is being force fed.

FI also means forced induction.
I also think my teacher meant either valve overlap or cam overlap looking at my notes from the day he assigned the assignment. -
