On a long trip. Say 200 miles + away from home I put one of my snow tires in the back. That way if I need it I can drive as far as I need to. On a donut you might get 100 or so miles out of it before you go tire shopping. If you carry a full sized tire strap it down securely so it doesn't kill you in event of a crash.

Funny thing that. I'd gone many years without a flat until late one night in Bum **** Iowa. Sure was glad I was carrying a donut. Trouble was I could not drive home on a donut, too darned far. Ended up buying a tire at the local Wallyworld the next day. If not for that donut I'd have been sleeping in my MINI on the side of the road. I don't like pluggin tires either, but sometimes ya have to resort to such inelegant means.
I wish you continued inflation Dave. If I find you on the roadside I'll loan you a donut. :wink:-

If I get a flat maybe I will ride on it and trash the rim. Then I can tell my wife I have to get an entirely new set of wheels and tires. :aureola:
:lol::lol::lol:
Sorry honey they don't make this wheel any longer and the only thing that is close is an ultra light set of forged race wheels.:devil::idea:-

Minifini has an attachment that will put a spare on the rear of the car. You may have to have a hitch attached

Yes and yes, though they fit nicely in the rear seat foot wells. They're great for road trips when the nearest mechanic may be some distance away. Otherwise, just carry a cell phone.

AAA+ so you can get towed 100 miles.
I carry a donut in my MINI & it is only a lifeboat that will get you to help or home if you are not too far away. A slime kit & compressor should be in your car also.

1st gen justa, donut has a place to live under the car. Clubman can hold a donut in the well in the back of the boot. In our Cabrio, MINI roadside, AAA, but we don't have that one anymore...

I carry compressor, slime, plug kits, AAA card and telephone.
When more than just around town, I carry a donut in the back seat.
It will NOT fit in the boot of an R52. -

:cornut: I carry a full real spare wheel/tire in the boot. When I got light OZ wheels(14lbs each), I kept the best run flat on a factory light weight wheel(which weigh 24lbs each) and it stands up nicely in the boot between the rear body brace and the boot hatch.
