I cant get my passenger door to open is there a manul override also now the rear hatch and gas cap do not lock only drivers door with key any help please
Because MINI/BMW does things the hard way..... more than likely the locking mechanism on the both side is probably bad. If the driver side locks and unlocks with the key but not the remote or switch inside the car then its a bad mechanism. I had to replace one that would lock with the remote but not unlock. It would lock and unlock with the key. I can't remember how the switch in the car worked. On the passenger side does the lock button on the door go up and down? If the door is locked it should unlock on the second pull of the inside handle. But if you lock the doors with the remote on the key they will not unlock, with the two pull method or the switch in the car. So you can be a smart a$$ and lock some one in the car. This is to keep some one from barking the window then opening the door.
On the passenger side I would take off the panel and make sure every thing is connected. If so you may have a bad locking mechanism on that side too.
They are a pain to replace! Here is the parts inside the door. Number 1 is the part that goes bad.
