clay/polish/wax both Minis the week before leaving.
change oil/filter in both.
rotate the Super Sports front-to-back on the R56 JCW.
and most importantly, fast a week before leaving to ensure I have plenty of room for donuts and Krystal burgers (those of you not from the South have no idea what you have been missing.....White Castle is NOT, I repeat, NOT Krystal....not even close :biggrin5: )
I must say my list is not nearly as interesting as Dave O's and Whales.....when these new car warranties of ours are done, look out.........

Figuring out how much stuff we can jam in my old Tacoma and various cars. Is this the year we do a clutch at the Dragon?

I'm sitting on pins and needles. I have my registration and a motel room booked for the Dragon. Problem is, I don't have my mini yet. I won't get it until the middle of April. Once I get it, I need to change the oil, the belt, flush the brake fluid and refill, flush the cooling system and refill, and have a trailer hitch installed. Then I have to get the wife's mobility scooter trailer road ready (check the wheel bearings and lighting). Maybe tires...
I am buying a 2005 R52 S and most of the stuff I am going to do I consider normal maintenance when buying a used car. I am a firm believer in preventative maintenance.
As this is my first MINI, I will welcome any suggestions anyone might have.-

^^ Nice. ^^
Personally, in response to the thread... I need to repaint and install the "replacement" spoiler I picked up a while ago. Install some new gauge faces. Possibly, crack open the headlights to clean and polish the lenses a bit. Touch up the front end from this winter's scars. An oil change. Possibly some new tires... if I decide to go back to my 16" OZs for the summer. That's TBD.-

Bought a travel air compressor today. I have to pack my chair, suitcase, and ALLLLLLLLLLLL those cigars for the final shindig Wed. night. Other than that...just the usual rain gear, sweatshirt, 2-way radio with new batteries, and new cell phone if I can figure it out [if not, TFB, but it's going anyway...on its way for some "sailing" at Fontana Dam]. I'll also have the usual detailing/cleaning stuff and my universal map of the area, a flashlight and some mace for the 2 and 4 legged "critters" down there.
My r50 has already been serviced, so it's good to go...clean, it is not, but I'll wash and detail it there.-

DOH! that hurts :biggrin5:
The 'gold chain crowd' has ruined the rep of that car for those of us who strive to make every horsepower count.
From the mid-C5 years to current, they are truly awesome performance cars, and so easy and (relatively) inexpensive to mod.....
The guy in the pix seriously creeps me out.....love the comb-over....-
