Finally got the 15% pulley, tensioner, idler pulley and belt on my friends car. Now its time for me to get ready for the Dragon!!! For everyone leaving soon be careful, have fun, and remember the white signs with numbers are just suggestions! see you Thursday.
Got up at six this morning to fire up the grill and smoke some chicken and sausage. Went to the grocery store to buy coffee, poptarts and a fluffernutter kit. Hit the ATM and packed the car. Leaving in 14 hours. Should make Fontana by 4:00 or 5:00 Sunday afternoon.
I thought they where a multiply me game... How else do you make it from Denver to Tennessee in less than 20 hours? Oh yeah 3 hours (if that) of sleep!
I just realized, no matter what happens - I'll be driving the dragon in the next 2 weeks. One option has me in the GP, the other... in an Isuzu Trooper from California.
Looks like I'm bringing the GP and running for donuts - dealer I was negotiating with on the Trooper wouldn't budge much on price. Was planning on flying out to Cali and driving it back, though - would've made a pit-stop in the Fontana area for an overnight on the way back. Had a buddy of mine check it out in person even. I was making some concessions for this car because it's a near match to my first car: The one I was looking at: Click here.
You do know about the Isuzu 3.5 V6 and all the broken cranks right? Thats how I got my 2001 VehiCross with a brand new motor!
Oh, yeah, the 3.5 has a ton of issues due to oil consumption. The 92-97 came with 2 different 3.2L V6s - one SOHC, one DOHC. I know way too much about Isuzus.
Hopefully getting my run-ins with the law out of the way. Was snagged for doing 70 in a 50 this morning. Luckily was let off with a 'Failure to obey posted sign' offense.
I'm finishing up my packing tonight and tomorrow morning. I also have to mow tomorrow and rest up for my departure Tuesday around 8:30 AM. I just know I will forget something...grrrrrrrrrr.
I'm starting my packing now. Cleaned the car out, loading the iPod, washing my detail stuff, getting my clothes ready. Doing 2 doubles and a 10 hour shift to make up for lost hours this week.
MINI waxed and clean, bags packed, weather good, leaving noon Monday after wife teaches her morning classes. Overnight in Nashville area and be there mid-day Tuesday. Safe travels everyone.
I am leaving Wed morning in my dirty MINI. I still have some routine maintenance, get new tires, alignment, and add a CD changer. AND, get some rest... Driving my 2005 MINI home, I just turned over 4,000 miles.
The black one is all waxed, detailed, fueled up,checked out and packed. Will be meeting some other C3M members in the a.m. for the trip down. Hot damn!
made great time. no problems first time I've seen a Sheriff's car sitting on 28 before Stecoah Diner though, be aware Wi-Fi in the cabin this year!
