Called MAG this morning and they told me to bring it in. I was working from home with Brody, so I didn't get there until around 10:00ish. M.A.D. picked us up (her office is down the street) and dropped me off at work and took Brody home. They called me at 11:30 to say it was fixed. Cable had become disconnected. I wish I could have just waited there for them to fix it, but had to get into the office for a meeting.

Wow that sucks. I'm sure they will get you fixed up. Does the door open from the inside now or not at all? Is there any reason your MINI did not want you back in the car?

Does the touch pad move in and out? Sometimes the the touch pad on my drivers door seems to stick and is really hard to push. Takes two hands then all is well.

Sounds like a cable broke/disconnected going to the latch, or the opening/latching cycle is out of sync. Make sure there is nothing preventing either the inside or outside handles from going all the way to the closed position. Not that this is likely, as ice is usually the culprit, and mostly only on early 1st gen MINIs.

I'd say the cable inside the door has either come detached or broken. Warranty to the rescue!

Hope they used the good duct tape for the fix.

I rebuilt a plastic grain shovel with Gorilla glue. Worked well is still in one piece.
