^^^ Hey Jim must be the dounts bringin the mines faster than yours out in ya. :donut1::wink:

Some folks would love ANYTHING made by mini...regardless of relilibility or looks....heck...10% of that website are likely "social media professionals" who job is to hype a brand.....and create brand and awareness.....or by folks who make their living off of mini's....after all...who would bite the hand that feeds them!!! Know of one mod who became a mini employee.... And he says very little negative now....hmmmm.....still a good guy...helps out with diagrams....but kinda has to stand back....has no real opinion on most anything mini when not doing moderation.... -

They are cheerleaders just like Motoring File now. Rah Rah MINI ! :nonod: -
If the brand grows....so will the website!!
But the site is becoming So fanboyish...it kinda sicking...not that it is recent..but...
Sales folks making threads I think...maybe half the "I'm waiting for my new f56" but very few folks mad at the delayed intro...that looks like it may be delayed AGAIN for oil filter housings...hm...folks posting how great of a extra discount they got through the in house mini finance company.....just so much seems contrived on the newer boards...
The older stuff....where the dealers are not making $$ is still OK....just so much of the same crap....but I guess that is why it is "the sewing site".... It is like darning socks...the holes alwayscneed to be fixed......and many folks starting out barely know how to gas up their cars...
A thread just started....person fried their car jump starting it...
Just said help...no question...
Feel bad...but if you cannot even match the colors on jumper cables... How is a person gonna FIX their car.... -
Feels like folks are afraid to say much...or get a NAM beat down....
Kinda like on motoring file or Whiteroofradio.....folks IMPLY or hint...but never really say it is crap....how many garage queen gen2 S's are around on a 3rd timing chain fix...kinda outrageous... But not much talk....
I try to look at stuff critically....
I know time and design moves on...tastes change...rules and regulations change...so the cars will....just not sure how "mini" as opposed to BMW the new cars seem.....feels kinda like when VW tried to go up-market back around 10-15 years ago....before that backtracked....
Like I have said before...
I know my gen1 is not gonna last forever...but many of the reviews seem overly covered in PR hype.....so much it feels dirty...like they are trying to hide something...rather than letting the car speak for it self....kinds like the mini after launch....understated....few adds...
But now...seems like there are more "lease a mini" adds on the radio than ANY OTHER make....at least locally in the northeast.... -

Like I said earlier, I drive it mostly to shows now and average just over 5k miles yearly on it. I keep it dealer serviced. Last year was its final MOTD. Personally, I think it is holding up quite well.rrr:
Like I said earlier, at this rate, I'll still have mine [and in running order] long after you dump Foggy. -

Some NAM fanboys should just stay on the NAM.

IB is a broad vertically integrated entity.
In the Automotive/Truck vertical they play both sides of the fence. Not only do they have many forums they also run Cars.com and some other entities that in their words "...provide the automotive industry with crucial data technology solutions and connect auto dealers with in-market buyers."
With that in mind they are just like the car magazines where you can't bite the hand that feeds you.
They do the same thing in the Health, Legal, Home and Travel verticals.
They are corporate bullies and very litigious. They even went after the Wikimedia Foundation.
I saw the handwriting on the wall 5 years ago with how the deal for NAM went down with Mark F. It's not the way I do business.
If you want to know more, start looking over the articles cited in the Wiki entry for IB. Internet Brands - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
But back to the F56. I've yet to see one in person. Once I do then I can render an opinion based on fact. -
