What's a 'NAM' ?? :cornut: I haven't participated on that forum in over a year. Do check out the marketplace from time to time
Like many, I made the switch from NAM (discounting my "marketplace" addiction :wink. If one can ignore the impolite behaviors from some over there, then there is still value to be had from NAM. If one does skillfully search in the vast threads of NAM, there is some really valuable information to be mined. I find this especially true for us First Gen fans; NAM was a parallel time line to the First Gen cars, so the info collected and contained within NAM won't really be recreated. Also consider that some of the First Gen "forefather's or early players" did a lot of posting. Dr. O, Randy Webb, SpyderX, etc and those are just a few of a pretty strong brain trust of First Gen posters. Just my .02...keep the shiny side up!
I hear ya and you are spot on There is just soooooo much crap one has to wade through to get to the gold. One of my biggest challenges is the poster there who believes they are experts, carry themselves as such and offer advise from their backsides. Weeding those out from the Dr O's, etc is really really hard
OK.... Back on track.... Maybe if we talk about it, it'll happen.... Bytetronic is supposed to be developing one of their custom tuning units for the R56.... Maybe an update from Mike@MynesTuned....? ....When the Bytetronik FA56 comes out, it's going to have similar configuration and features as the FA53 at a slightly higher price level - but it won't be anywhere close to the CMD/Dimsport price level (those tools are designed primarily for shops).....

If so, what ETA is anticipated? ___________ ___________ A bunch of of companies in this business is trying to figure out the new RSA encryption for the 2011 MCS. I am sure it will leak soon, but Bosch has changed this to lock out tuners at BMW's request of all the blown engines arising for warranty claims from tuners who have no idea what they are doing...lol Anyways, when our software releases for FA56, we are thinking of Dealer Version Only, with only experienced with tuning German vehicles only i.e. - BMW, AUDI, Mercedes etc. _________________ Jason @ ByteTronik
I couldn't have read that correctly. Did they actually mention "Dealer" and "Experienced" in the same sentence? Jim
tuner for R53 I bought the Shark tuner, plugs into you OBD port and flashes a new tune for 15% underdrive pully CAI Cat back exhaust\ it stores you stock tune so you can reflash it to stock if you have to take it in for warranty
I think they are saying "Dealers" as in their dealers for FA. There are certain shops that are dealers for their products. They can be found here on MA and on the net
Ok, I'm still trying to understand "tunes," and need some help. My garage mechanic is listed among your list of providers; he uses Mustang Dyno, and Autologic. If I have him tune me for optimal performance (street, not race), will MINI object (i.e., challenge warranty)?
From what I understand- ANY tune other than a JCW one from the dealer, they have the right to challenge your warranty. It's the risk you decide or decide not to take.
