Figured I'd post an update. Car had to be towed. Didn't have the right tools to continue troubleshooting where it was. Def keep you guys posted though. Gotta say, really appreciate the quickness in responses.

Over the weekend I've searched every symptom. I'm actually getting a little nervous it's something that may be expensive.

The car wouldn't push start either. A bit of info I forgot to add in my previous posts.

I'm really hoping it's something electrical or the fuel pump as while I was trouble shooting I added almost two quarts of oil. Not good, I know but I know my car consumes a bit of oil normally.

If the car was running and I turned it off. That would rule out it being something internal in the engine, correct?

Truth or not, what Way offered me has been a great add to my R50 and my R53. I have nothing against Way. He has done great work for me when he was in Indianapolis and when he is at MOTD [Atlanta is just too far for me to go to his shop, now]. So, you can see that my problem is that of logistics. Jan is too far from me, unless you know of a place closer. Way is at MOTD...is Jan? Chad is at MOTD. too, and he has also done some work for me, too, but, does he do Jan's tunes? I don't know, so I'm staying with Way until I hear something else.

^^^ that's fair. Jan has also been at MOTD the last 3 years and will be this year also.

He used to come to MOTD Every year but took few years off because his tuning skills were needed by Porsche race teams.

I am not sure, but you can ask him at MOTD this year. He will have a tent this year again.

I will see you again at cigar night on the porch we can talk about it. I am sure he will be able to review your tune.

OK...what's your flavor...mild, medium or full? Make sure you are there..., ok? I'm bringing mediums and fulls, unless it's a problem. Camacho 10th Anniversarys and Perdomo 10th Anniversary Champagnes. This IS our 10th year, ya know.

I smoke menthol cigarets but I have a cigar from time to time. I will gladly except whatever you think is best as I am not a true cigar guy like yourself. :smile5:

Slight problem here...menthol cigars are sold in packs like cigarettes. UGH...I smoke cigars, not cigarettes. Checking around, I do have some mint flavored cigars here...will they do, instead?

If your car was running good and not making any noise when you turned it off, the internals are more than likely ok.

When you turn the key to the on position does everything light up?
When you try to start it what does it do, click, nothing, turnover slowly?
Check all your connections. Make sure to check the one under the hood where you jump it off, this is a known problem. Make sure they are tight and clean.
I don't care how new your battery is, have it checked.

Don't jump to big problems yet, it may be something small. A bad battery can do some really odd things on a mini.

Let us know what you find so we can help.

It wants to start. That's the oddest part I guess. Thanks for solidifying my thoughts on the internals.
The motor just wasn't turning over. Everything lights up. Everything else works.

I'll keep you guys in the loop. I haven't had access to it since i had it towed, being the weekend.

    Thanks again!

These forums really are amazing, if you can read.

Reading seems to be a problem here, lately. Opinions get blasted now and then, but one has to read between the lines as he examines the criticizers' comments.

Good luck with your MINI...you WILL find good help here.

We really DO try to be helpful here. It's just that we, at times, get all caught up in ourselves and our opinions. That said, we are MINI here, though... in all MINI/Mini shapes, sizes and years. Even with our differing opinions on many topics, our tolerances and occasional discords make us THE best.

So turned out to be the fuel pump. Logical.

Ran very well until I got on it a bit now there's a miss.
The filter and pump are changed in tandem, usually? Hoping it's just a clogged injector.

Sd2 said misfire cylinder 2. Further troubleshooting shows no spark going to said cylinder. (If they're L to R) Ruling out the injector at this point.
Hoping it's as simple as the coil.
I guess I gotta look at it like fun if it's beyond that.
